What “naturally-fed chicken” actually means (and what it doesn’t)..

“Naturally-fed”, at its core, it simply means what the bird eats, and how close that diet is to natural food sources.
A naturally-fed chicken is typically raised on:
Grains and plant-based feed
Fresh or minimally processed ingredients
A varied diet rather than a single uniform feed
What it doesn’t automatically mean:
Free-range or pasture-raised or Organic
Slow-grown by default
Those are separate choices and systems.
What natural feeding can influence, though, is:
Flavour development
Fat quality
How the meat feels after eating
Two chickens of the same breed can taste very different depending on diet, growth pace, and the environment.
So when you hear “naturally-fed,” the better question isn’t the label itself,
it’s what went into the bird, and for how long.
